English Bay Inn

Location

The English Bay Inn is located in the heart of Vancouver, one of the most beautiful cities in the world! The Inn is in the quieter West of Denman area of the West End, just 1 block from English Bay and 1 block from Stanley Park.

Staying West of Denman is an ideal spot for visitors to Vancouver as it allows you all of the conveniences of being downtown while providing a quiet, peaceful place to unwind when you head home after a long day of touring the city.

Head 1 block West for English Bay and The Seawall. Bask in the sun at English Bay Beach, Enjoy a picnic lunch under the shade of a tree, take in a beautiful sunset over the water, or take a walk, run, bike ride, or roller blade around the 22km Seawall.

Head 1 block to the North and step out of the city and directly into world famous Stanley Park to explore some of the 400 hectares of West Coast Natural Rainforest. Walk, jog or bike any of the several kilometers of trails that wind through the park, take in a quick round of golf at the 18 hole, 3 par Stanley Park Pitch and Putt Golf Course, take a swim at the outdoor 2nd Beach pool, check out the local marine life at Vancouver Aquarium, or explore the beaches, historical points of interest, exceptional views over the water from several different vantage points and much much more. A day in Stanley Park makes it very easy to forget you are in the downtown of a major West Coast city!

3 blocks to the South will bring you to Denman Street, which connects English Bay to Coal Harbour. Denman Street has plenty of great restaurants and shops, as well as a large community rec centre for those that need access to a gym during their stay.

From Denman, walk to Robson Street (world class shopping and restaurants), Davie Street (home base for Vancouver’s Gay and Lesbian community), Yaletown (trendy area of mostly converted heritage buildings – some of the cities best shops and restaurants are in this area) and Granville Street (Vancouver’s primary entertainment district).

Other attractions within walking distance of the Inn include Granville Island, Gastown (though this is a bit of a longer walk – some may prefer to take a taxi when visiting Gastown), Coal Harbour & Ferries to the North Shore.

Turn left on to 41st Avenue, and travel west for five blocks to Granville Street, and turn right.

From Vancouver airport, follow the signs to Vancouver and take the Marine Dr West – Granville Street exit off the Arthur Lang Bridge.

Travel north on Granville St (towards the mountains) and cross the Granville St Bridge into downtown. Near the far end of the bridge, take the second exit (PACIFIC ST. WEST) on your right, which will loop under the bridge to Pacific Street. You will be traveling west. Continue in that direction.

Pacific Street becomes Beach Avenue which contours the beaches of English Bay toward Stanley Park. Remain in the left lane of Beach Avenue to the last street before Stanley Park, Chilco Street.
